Effective as of 7:00 a.m. CST on Monday, July 28, 2025, Williams County officials have imposed a weight restriction on all county and township gravel and chip seal roads across zones 1 through 6. The restriction limits vehicles to a maximum gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 20,000 pounds. This action follows recent rainfall in the area.

All permits previously approved for loads exceeding the 20,000-pound GVW limit are now void under the new restriction. County authorities stated that this measure will remain in place until further notice.

Officials also indicated that road conditions will be re-evaluated throughout the day to determine if adjustments to the restrictions are necessary.

"Any permits that were approved prior for over the 20,000 LBS GVW restriction are now void. This restriction will remain in effect until further notice," according to county representatives.
