The North Dakota Department of Commerce has announced the approval of $345,000 in investments for two companies through the Angel Match Program (AMP) during the second quarter of 2025. The AMP is part of the North Dakota Development Fund Inc., aimed at supporting early-stage, high-growth businesses in North Dakota by matching private angel investments with direct equity or convertible note funding.
Shayden Akason, Deputy Director of Economic Development and Finance and Head of Investments and Innovation at Commerce, commented on the program's impact: “North Dakota is no stranger to innovative entrepreneurs, and we’re continuing to see companies develop technologies that make everyday systems work smarter - whether it’s food supply chains or improving healthcare communication.” He emphasized their role in backing innovators to turn ideas into real-world impacts in North Dakota.
The investment highlights include Verdethos, Inc., which received a $95,000 investment for working capital. Verdethos provides software solutions for supply chain logistics and commodity traceability. Highpass, Inc. was approved for a $250,000 investment to expand marketing efforts. Highpass offers a SaaS platform that enhances communication in the healthcare industry through intelligent document processing and workflow automation.
Since its inception in 2021, AMP has supported 16 startups in North Dakota by providing them with essential capital for growth and scaling. The North Dakota Development Fund, established in 1991, offers flexible financing tools to support new and expanding businesses across the state. Besides AMP, it also manages the Child Care Loan Program to address critical workforce needs by aiding childcare providers.
