The North Dakota National Guard has teamed up with the Bismarck Fire Department to conduct helicopter familiarization training. This initiative is aimed at equipping first responders with the necessary skills to handle helicopter emergencies safely and efficiently.

The training session concentrated on key aspects such as accessing the helicopter's fuel and power shutoffs, identifying components that need to be opened or removed, and executing the safe removal of pilots and passengers in situations like crashes or emergency landings. The firefighters had the opportunity to gain practical experience under the guidance of National Guard personnel.

"This kind of joint training helps us respond faster and more safely in emergencies, as well as build a strong working relationship with the National Guard," said a representative involved in the exercise.
