The city of Mandan has announced the launch of its new app, powered by Living Local, which is now available for download.

According to the city of Mandan, the app provides residents and visitors with access to alerts, community calendars, school information, utility bill payment options, and a feature to report concerns. It also includes content such as articles, events, videos, and local resources. The app aims to keep users informed about timely and relevant community matters by offering a centralized platform for important updates. Available on the App Store and Google Play under "City of Mandan," users are encouraged to enable notifications to receive critical alerts.

Living Local is developed by KAT & Company and serves as a customizable app that helps communities share important information efficiently. According to Living Local, it provides features including community event calendars, volunteer first responder sign-ups, and community boards for job postings, sales, and fundraisers. The app is designed to deliver critical and timely content tailored to each town’s needs.

Mandan had an estimated population of 24,586 as of July 1, 2023. The city has historical roots as a Mandan tribe village, cavalry fort, and railroad hub. It hosts annual events such as Touch-A-Truck, Buggies-n-Blues, and Rodeo Days that attract thousands of visitors each year. Additionally, Mandan offers various recreational facilities including parks, sports complexes, museums, walking and biking trails, and a water park. As part of the Bismarck-Mandan metropolitan area with approximately 129,641 residents in 2020, the city generated about $3.4 million from a 1% local sales tax in 2023 and reduced its mill levy from 98 mills in 2009 to 64 mills.
