Fatal rollover crash claims life of driver near Crary

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, a fatal crash occurred involving a single vehicle near Crary, North Dakota. The incident took place at approximately 9:25 AM on 41st Street Northeast, about four miles south of Crary.

Eric Griffin, a 37-year-old resident of Carrington, ND, was driving a 2000 Sterling Cement Truck eastbound when the right rear tires left the gravel roadway. The truck rolled over and came to rest on its driver's side. Griffin suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

The road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the accident. It was noted that Griffin was not wearing a seatbelt and the airbag did not deploy.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash. Agencies involved in responding to the scene included the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department, Devils Lake Rural Fire Department, and Lake Region Ambulance Service.
