In the coming weeks, drivers in Medora, North Dakota, should anticipate several changes in traffic patterns due to ongoing construction on the Medora Business Loop and City Section project.
Starting the week of July 14, a new roundabout will be fully operational. However, work will continue at the southeast corner of the Chateau Road intersection until its expected completion in fall.
During the week of July 21, crews will install bridge girders. This will cause short-term traffic disruptions on Pacific Avenue as materials are delivered and positioned.
By mid-August, construction teams plan to pour the north side bridge deck and subsequently install barriers and rails. Once this is finished, traffic will shift to allow work on the south side deck.
The project is a substantial investment in Medora's infrastructure as it prepares for an increase in visitors with the upcoming opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) emphasizes its commitment to keeping the public informed about progress.
"Expect short-term traffic impacts on Pacific Avenue as materials are delivered and lifted into place," stated NDDOT officials regarding the installation phase. "The NDDOT is committed to transparency and will keep the public informed as the project progresses."
