Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced an update to the interactive local foods map, allowing farmers markets to indicate if they accept Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. This enhancement was supported by the North Dakota State University Extension Family Nutrition Program.
"The new information will help to increase access to local foods for all community members and connect them with North Dakota growers and producers," said Goehring.
Farmers markets accepting SNAP benefits are encouraged to update their profiles on the map accordingly. Markets not yet registered can find sign-up instructions at https://www.ndda.nd.gov/NDLFMAP.
