A two-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday, June 25, at around 11:00 AM on Cass County Road 26/Highway 18, between Arthur and Hunter. The incident involved a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) hauling gravel and a passenger car in a T-bone collision. The road was wet, and the weather was cloudy with light rain.
The vehicles involved were a 2006 Kenworth with a belly-dump gravel trailer driven by Ramiro Rios, 62, from San Benito, Texas, who was not injured. Rios was wearing a seatbelt and no charges were filed against him.
The second vehicle was a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Dale Bosch, 74, from Beaver Creek, Minnesota. Bosch sustained serious injuries along with his passengers Karen Bosch, also 74 and from Beaver Creek, Minnesota, and Suzanne Sudmeier, 71, from Alexandria, Minnesota. All were wearing seatbelts and the airbags deployed during the crash. Dale Bosch received a citation for failure to yield.
Emergency services including the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Hunter Fire Department, Arthur Fire Department, Hunter Ambulance, and Sanford Ambulance responded to the scene. The injured parties were transported to medical facilities in Fargo for treatment.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash.
