The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) is actively involved in response and recovery efforts after severe storms and tornadoes hit southeastern North Dakota on June 20, 2025. The storms led to significant damage, including structural destruction and fatalities in the region.

High winds overturned several semis along Interstate 94 in Stutsman, Barnes, and Cass counties. Two semis overturned near Eckelson Lake on westbound I-94 at mile marker 278, temporarily blocking traffic. Both drivers exited their vehicles without injury.

Troopers quickly responded to ensure motorist safety, manage traffic control, and assist emergency services in the affected areas. NDHP continues to work with local and state agencies to support communities impacted by the storms.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through storm-damaged areas and follow instructions from emergency personnel.
