The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) is actively involved in response and recovery efforts after severe storms and tornadoes hit southeastern North Dakota on June 20, 2025. The storms caused significant damage, including structural destruction and loss of life.

High winds overturned several semis along Interstate 94 in Stutsman, Barnes, and Cass counties. Two semis were overturned near Eckelson Lake on westbound I-94 at mile marker 278, temporarily blocking traffic. Both drivers exited their vehicles without injury.

Troopers quickly responded to ensure motorists' safety, manage traffic control, and support emergency services in the affected areas. NDHP continues to work with local and state agencies to aid impacted communities.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through storm-damaged areas and follow instructions from emergency personnel.
