Reckless driver pursued on I-29 faces multiple charges

A pursuit involving a reckless driver unfolded on I-29 in North Dakota on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The incident began at approximately 10:50 AM when authorities received reports of a vehicle swerving and brake checking other drivers. The vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Cube driven by Kevin Anderson, 53, from Fort Ransom, was located near mile marker 111 by a North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper.

Despite attempts to initiate a traffic stop, the driver continued northbound and exited at mile marker 118 before merging back onto I-29. Law enforcement successfully deployed spike strips at mile marker 130 to halt the vehicle.

Kevin Anderson faces multiple charges including reckless endangerment-extreme indifference (Class C Felony), aggravated reckless driving (Class A Misdemeanor), fleeing a police officer (Class C Felony), preventing arrest/resisting (Class C Felony), failure to maintain a single lane/unsafe lane change, care required, and failure to use signal.

The agencies involved in the pursuit were the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Traill County Sheriff’s Office, and Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing under the jurisdiction of the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
