Motorcycle crash claims life of Cavalier man near Pembina

A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 29, about 3.5 miles south of Pembina, North Dakota. The accident involved a single vehicle, a 2007 Big Dog K-9 Motorcycle, which left the roadway at a curve and rolled over.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Elian Martinez, a 25-year-old resident of Cavalier, North Dakota. Martinez sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The road conditions were reported to be good and the weather was sunny when the incident occurred. Agencies involved in responding to the crash included the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Pembina County Sheriff’s Office, and Pembina Ambulance.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
