In a pivotal moment during the bottom of the sixth inning, Bernardini hit a crucial double to right-center field, bringing in two runs and giving the Larks a 5-4 lead. The Express threatened in the ninth with runners on first and second base, but Jayder Raifstanger executed a game-ending double play by stepping on third base and throwing to first.
