Injury crash on Highway 2 under investigation by authorities

On Monday, May 12, at approximately 8:12 AM, a traffic incident occurred on Highway 2 near mile marker 50.5, about three miles west of Ray. The crash involved two vehicles and resulted in serious injuries to one driver.

A 2007 Peterbilt truck, driven by a 32-year-old male from Ray, North Dakota, was traveling westbound on Highway 2. As the truck slowed to make a right turn onto 118 Ave NW, it was rear-ended by a 2021 Ford F350. The Ford was driven by a 44-year-old male from Tioga, North Dakota.

The driver of the Peterbilt truck was not injured in the collision. However, the driver of the Ford F350 sustained serious injuries and was transported to Tioga Medical Center for treatment.

The crash is currently under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP). Agencies involved in responding to the scene included the Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Ray Fire and Rescue, and Ray Ambulance. The westbound lanes of Highway 2 were closed for approximately five hours following the incident.
