Williams County is initiating the development of a Roadway Safety Action Plan (RSAP) with funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets and Roads 4 All (SS4A) Grant Program. The SS4A program supports initiatives aimed at preventing roadway fatalities and serious injuries.

Residents can participate in the planning process by providing input through an online survey available throughout May. The survey includes basic questions and a map for logging safety-related comments specific to geographic locations. Future phases will offer additional public engagement opportunities.

The RSAP will be informed by a comprehensive review of transportation safety policies at various governmental levels, which will help set goals, objectives, and recommended actions based on best practices in transportation safety planning. A draft action plan is anticipated by July 2025, with final adoption expected by January 2026.

Updates about the plan will be shared on the county's webpage.
