The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is set to conduct a study aimed at identifying and categorizing safety countermeasures to assist in future project selection and implementation. This Safety Policy Study will use the USDOT's Safe System Approach with the goal of Vision Zero, which seeks to eliminate or reduce severe injuries and fatalities from transportation-related accidents. The study includes collaboration with several regional partners: City of Bismarck, City of Mandan, City of Lincoln, Burleigh County, and Morton County.

Public input for this study will be gathered at the Touch-a-Truck event on Main Street in Mandan on Saturday, May 17. Admission to the event is free. Those unable to attend can submit their feedback in writing by May 31, 2025, to Luke Champa at SRF Consulting Group, 2370 Vermont Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58504. Input can also be submitted through the project website: bismarcknd.gov/2441/2025-Safety-Policy-Study.

The MPO assures that it will consider all requests for reasonable accommodation. Individuals needing accommodations for disabilities or language assistance are encouraged to contact the Title VI / ADA Coordinator by calling 701-355-1330 or emailing their request. TTY users may dial 711 or 1-800-366-6888. Requests should be made at least ten days prior to the event.
