Bismarck's 4th of July Celebration will move to a new location in 2025, taking place at the MDU Resources Community Bowl on the Bismarck State College campus. The event, now officially named Bismarck’s Red White and Boom!, is scheduled for Friday, July 4, from 4 PM to 11 PM CT.

The change in venue comes as construction at the State Capitol Grounds makes the traditional site unavailable. City Administrator Jason Tomanek formed a committee with civic and community leaders to ensure that this annual tradition continues. “The MDU Resources Community Bowl offers the ideal space to elevate this experience for families, music lovers, and fireworks fans alike,” said Tomanek. “We’re thrilled to welcome the community to a new setting that preserves the heart of this tradition while creating exciting new opportunities.”

The celebration remains free and open to the public, promising a family-friendly atmosphere filled with patriotic spirit and summer activities. Attendees can look forward to interactive games such as sack races and Giant Jenga, creative zones including a Bubble Zone and Message to America Wall, as well as culinary offerings from Norm’s Catering and local ice cream vendors.

Entertainment will feature live music from Savanah Benz and performances by local pole vaulters. The Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra will also return for their 31st annual Independence Day concert. The evening will culminate in a fireworks display over the Missouri River.

This event is supported by various sponsors, including title partner Bismarck State College and presenting partners like MDU Resources Group Inc., Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Capital Credit Union, H.A. Thompson & Sons, and New Vision Security Systems. Additional support comes from community partners such as Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau and McQuade Distributing.

Event schedules and additional details will be shared soon via social media platforms.
