First responder agencies, including the Bismarck Fire Department, Metro Area Ambulance, and Bismarck Emergency Management, will collaborate with the 81st (ND) Civil Support Team (CST) in two joint hazardous materials exercises this week. These drills aim to enhance cooperation among local, state, and federal agencies when handling incidents that challenge local capabilities.
The first exercise will occur on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in the Cottonwood Park area of South Bismarck. Emergency response vehicles can be expected throughout the day starting around 7 AM. Residents are advised to anticipate responder vehicle movement and operational actions. The public is urged to avoid areas marked 'Exercise in Progress' or 'Training' to ensure training continuity and safety. A second drill, hosted by Bismarck Fire, will take place at Fire Station 4 Training Facility on Thursday.
These activities are strictly practice drills.
