The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library is preparing to celebrate National Library Week from April 6 to 12, 2025. Each year, the week is an opportunity to appreciate the many roles libraries play in community education, connection, and imagination. The library, which saw over 250,000 visitors last year, serves as a central hub for people of all ages, providing space and resources for a variety of activities.
Library visitors range from young families attending play and storytime sessions, to students crafting projects at the Teen HQ, to seniors receiving technology assistance. The library offers public computers, free Wi-Fi, ebooks, audiobooks, and a wide array of other programs and collections tailored to inspire and educate the community.
"National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning," states the announcement. The library encourages both frequent patrons and new visitors to explore the available resources and participate in the upcoming week's events.
"At Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library, we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you’re a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer," the statement continues. The emphasis is on the library's role in connecting community members and offering a welcoming space for all.
Bismarck community members can access a calendar of upcoming events related to the week-long celebration on the library’s website. National Library Week has been commemorated since its inception in 1958 under the American Library Association's sponsorship.
For additional details, Elizabeth Jacobs, Assistant Library Director, can be contacted at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library on North Fifth Street. Further information including a media kit is available online.
