Heather Ranck will be reinstated as the Director of the National Rural Export Center, according to an announcement by Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer. This decision follows collaboration with the Department of Commerce's new administration to continue bolstering the activities of the National Rural Export Center. Ranck is credited with founding the center, which assists rural U.S. companies through tailored market research aimed at discovering potential export markets.
“Heather has dedicated her career to helping support farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers in North Dakota and across the country as they navigate global markets,” said Hoeven. With her two decades of experience at the Department of Commerce, her skillset is deemed essential for assisting producers in identifying and expanding new market opportunities.
Senator Cramer emphasized the significance of Ranck's return, noting that it underscores "a strong message that President Trump values rural exporters and companies looking to sell their goods and services beyond our borders." He noted that the Rural Export Center plays a vital role in uncovering new market opportunities for rural American businesses.
Perrie Schafer, Chairman of the North Dakota District Export Council, expressed appreciation for Ranck's return, stating, "Heather is a proven leader and has served the Rural Export Center as its director in the past with great outcomes and great care for the export communities." Schafer praised Senators Hoeven and Cramer for their leadership and support in securing her reinstatement.
