The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures on Centennial Road/Bismarck Expressway beginning early April. These closures are linked to the ongoing work for the I-94 Interchange (Exit 161) Reconstruction project. The closures are designed to support traffic flow throughout the development of the project.
As of April 1, the northbound outside lane between Divide Avenue and Trenton Drive will be closed. This initial closure is to facilitate temporary roadway widening. By the middle of April, southbound lane closures will allow for the removal and replacement of concrete medians with asphalt.
Throughout the 2025 construction season, motorists are advised to expect intermittent lane closures. NDDOT is committed to keeping the public informed about any significant changes in traffic patterns and road conditions.
The reconstruction project at the I-94 Interchange began in spring 2024 and is expected to continue until summer 2026. The project aims to improve traffic flow by removing two left-turn movements and adding efficient right-turn loops. NDDOT expresses its gratitude to the public for their patience during this important infrastructure project.
