The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a grass fire on the northeast side of Bismarck on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 5:51 PM on March 19, 2025, when the department received a call reporting a grass fire south of East Century Avenue. Fire crews were promptly dispatched to address the situation.

Upon arrival at 5:55 PM, firefighters encountered smoke and flames in a field covering roughly three acres. Teams from both Bismarck City and Bismarck Rural departments worked together using hose lines from three brush trucks to extinguish the fire.

No injuries resulted from the incident, and the fire was contained within the three-acre area. The cause of the blaze remains undetermined.

The Bismarck Fire Department issued a reminder that additional burn restrictions are enforced when the fire danger index reaches "Very High" or "Extreme" levels, or if a Red Flag Warning is issued by the National Weather Service. Under these conditions, all recreational fires are prohibited, including those in portable or permanent outdoor fire pits.

For further information, residents can contact the Bismarck Fire Department at (701) 355-1424.
