The future of Bismarck's annual 4th of July Celebration is uncertain due to construction on the Capitol grounds. This ongoing work presents logistical challenges for hosting the event at its traditional location.

The Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra (BMSO), which has organized the celebration for many years, is addressing these issues by forming a committee of community leaders. The committee, facilitated by City Administrator Jason Tomanek, is tasked with exploring alternative locations and evaluating the feasibility of continuing to use the Capitol grounds.

Efforts are underway to reimagine key aspects of the event to ensure that it continues to provide a seamless experience for attendees. The goal is to maintain this cherished tradition while accommodating necessary changes brought about by construction activities.

"To ensure the best possible Independence Day experience for Bismarck residents for years to come," said Tomanek, highlighting the commitment of local leaders in navigating these challenges.
