The City of Bismarck Roads & Streets Department has initiated its city-wide street sweeping program. Crews will conduct the sweeping as scheduled and continue until all residential streets are addressed, weather permitting.

Residents are advised to exercise caution during the operations. "Street sweeping operations can be dangerous," notes the department. They warn that stones and other debris could pose hazards, urging parents to keep children away from these areas. Motorists should also drive carefully when passing sweepers due to potential visibility restrictions caused by dust.

For both residents and businesses, several guidelines have been issued: vehicles and trailers should remain off the streets until sweeping is complete in their area; sand or debris should not be raked into the street; leaves or grass should not be blown into the street, as grass clippings can clog the storm water system. The department encourages participation in their Adopt-an-Inlet program to help maintain clear gutter lines.
