Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota has expressed her approval of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) recent move to dismantle several regulations affecting energy producers and farmers in her state. The Trump administration's decision targets 31 regulations, including six that were highlighted by Fedorchak in a letter to President Trump earlier this year.

"Today's action by the EPA is great news for North Dakota’s energy producers, farmers, businesses, and families," said Fedorchak. She emphasized the importance of removing what she described as unnecessary regulations that have complicated efforts by energy producers and farmers.

Fedorchak noted that her first congressional act was to write to President Trump, urging him to reverse 20 rules from the Biden administration. "Today, six of those rules were targeted to be overturned," she stated. She views these rollbacks as a response to concerns she raised and appreciates the EPA's attention to North Dakotans' voices.

The rescinded rules include the Waters of the United States Rule, which expanded EPA authority over various water bodies; the Clean Power Plan 2.0, targeting power plant emissions; and other regulations related to mercury standards, methane emissions, particulate matter, and coal ash management.

EPA Administrator Zeldin commented on the significance of this deregulation effort: "Today is the greatest day of deregulation our nation has seen." He reiterated commitments made alongside President Trump to reduce living costs and support American industries.

Fedorchak's January letter urged reversing regulations perceived as harmful to North Dakota's economy. The congresswoman remains focused on reducing federal oversight so local industries can continue their contributions to national energy needs.
