Gov. Kelly Armstrong has opened the application period for North Dakota school, community, and church bands, orchestras, and choirs to apply for the Governor’s Official State Band/Orchestra Program and Choral Program for the 2025-2026 school year. The selection of two groups will be based on musical talent, achievement, and community involvement.

The chosen groups may be invited to perform at official state functions throughout the year, including the State of the State Address. Interested parties must submit an application, references, and a musical recording to the Governor’s Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 4.

"The governor may invite them to perform at official state functions held throughout the year," stated Gov. Armstrong. The announcement of selected groups will occur in April with potential performances at the Capitol in May 2025 and other events during the 2025-2026 school year.

Applications and materials should be submitted through https://www.governor.nd.gov/governors-chorus-and-bandorchestra-program-application.
