The North Dakota Department of Commerce Tourism and Marketing Division has revealed updates on its tourism sales and marketing initiatives as of February 18, 2025. These efforts are designed to attract more visitors to the state and promote its rich heritage, diverse landscapes, and welcoming communities.

“Our goal is to showcase North Dakota's unique blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences,” said Sara Otte Coleman, Director of the Tourism and Marketing Division. “Through strategic advertising, partnerships with travel agencies, and targeted promotional events, we aim to enhance the visitor experience while contributing to economic growth.”

Tourism is a major economic driver for North Dakota. The department's recent efforts are aimed at boosting both the quantity and quality of visits, encouraging tourists to stay longer and explore more of the state. As part of this strategy, North Dakota’s iconic attractions such as the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which offers stunning landscapes and wildlife experiences, and the International Peace Garden, celebrating the peaceful relationship between the U.S. and Canada, are being highlighted. The state is also promoting its rich Native American culture, with events like the Native American Cultural Festival in Bismarck.

In addition to natural wonders, North Dakota’s vibrant cities such as Fargo and Bismarck are home to diverse cultural and historical sites. For example, the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum offers visitors a deep dive into the state's history and culture, while the Fargo Theatre continues to be a hub for arts and entertainment.

The department’s ongoing initiatives are designed not only to attract visitors but to keep them engaged, ensuring they experience the best that North Dakota has to offer.
