The Bismarck Historical Society is set to present a program titled "Archaeology of Bismarck" at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library. The event will take place in Meeting Room A on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, starting at 6:30 PM.

Tour guides Damita Engle and Signe Snortland will lead the program with an intriguing narrative about the archaeological history beneath Bismarck. They invite attendees to consider the unseen past underfoot while walking downtown, discussing discoveries such as a child's toy found in an abandoned storm drain.

The presentation will also cover investigations at the University of Mary, searching for evidence related to the Battle of Apple Creek. Additionally, there will be discussions on work conducted at the Larson village site located north of Bismarck. This part of the program includes a display featuring photographs and reconstructed pottery from the site.

The event is free and open to everyone interested in learning more about local archaeology.
