Bismarck Public Schools (BPS) has announced that kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year will commence on February 1, 2025. Details regarding the announcement and registration process are available on the BPS Kindergarten Registration page.
According to the BPS Kindergarten Registration page, children eligible for registration must be five years old by July 31, 2025, with birth dates between August 1, 2019, and July 31, 2020. Parents can utilize the Guide K12 tool in the "Find Your School" section to identify their designated school by entering their address. Required documents include the child’s birth certificate, immunization record, parent identification, and proof of residence.
The online registration process is expected to take approximately 20-30 minutes per student and is restricted to schools within the family’s designated boundary area. Parents are advised to register early to secure placement in their neighborhood school. Capacity limitations may result in temporary placement at an alternate school, with students returning to their boundary school the following year.
Required documents can be submitted online during registration or delivered in person at the BPS Central Administration Building. For late registrations, additional time may be necessary to complete scheduling and ensure readiness for attendance. Provisions are available for students in transition or temporary housing under the McKinney-Vento Act to ensure equitable access to education.
