The University of Mary is set to host its annual Prayer Day, featuring actress and producer Siobhan Fallon Hogan as the keynote speaker. Known for her roles in films such as "Forrest Gump" and "Men in Black," Fallon Hogan will deliver a talk titled “Living the Faith in Show Biz,” focusing on the challenges and rewards of maintaining Catholic values within the entertainment industry.

Fallon Hogan's presentation on November 20 at the university campus in Bismarck, North Dakota, promises to offer insights from her three-decade career. Despite working in Hollywood, she has stayed committed to her Catholic faith. She stated in an interview with Aleteia, “In my industry, it’s easy to be swept into what’s popular, but I stay grounded by returning to my Catholic faith.”

The day's events begin with Mass at 9 a.m., followed by Fallon Hogan's keynote speech at 10 a.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage further during a panel discussion after her address. The day also includes lunch and screenings of Fallon Hogan's latest film, “Shelter in Solitude,” at noon and 7 p.m.

Father Dominic Bouck emphasized the significance of Prayer Day for the university community: “Prayer Day has become a vital part of our identity as a faithfully Christian, joyfully Catholic, and gratefully Benedictine institution.” He added that this year's event offers “a unique opportunity for reflection, growth, and inspiration” through Fallon Hogan’s perspective as a Catholic artist.

Organized by the Saint John Paul II Center for University Ministry, Prayer Day is open to all members of the public free of charge. Interested individuals can register and find more information at umary.edu/prayerday.
