BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
Dakota Spirit AgEnergy (DSA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Midwest AgEnergy Group, producing ethanol at our plant in the Spiritwood Energy Park. DSA was commissioned in 2015 and has been operating ‘round the clock since then. So far, our 40 dedicated team members have processed 175 million bushels of local corn production into 500 million gallons of renewable energy and 1.25 million tons of high-quality livestock feed as a co-product of our ethanol process. To put our business volume in perspective, Stutsman County has produced about 137 million bushels of corn since the 2015 crop year.
WHAT SHOULD THE COMMUNITY KNOW ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS THAT MAY BE BENEFICIAL TO THEM?
Our DSA plant directly circulated over $150 million in the local economy in 2021. In addition to purchasing corn from local producers, DSA employs trucking companies, purchases fuel, hardware and supplies locally and is the major rent payer at Spiritwood Energy Park.
WHY THEY FEEL IT'S IMPORTANT TO BE A PART OF OUR LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
A strong Chamber supports growth in industry and employment in our community. This is the virtuous cycle that brings growth in housing, recreational and cultural opportunities. This, in turn, attracts the high-quality employees that DSA needs to succeed.
