Bismarck city officials have announced changes to municipal services in observance of Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11. City offices and the landfill will be closed for the holiday. Garbage and curbside recycling collection, specifically for the gold route, will not take place that day.
The schedule for garbage and recycling collection will shift by one day for routes originally scheduled from Tuesday through Thursday. For example, residents with Tuesday pickups will have their collection on Wednesday, while Wednesday’s pickups move to Thursday, and so forth. Monday’s collection route remains unchanged. Residents are advised to place their waste out by 6:00 a.m. on their designated collection day or the evening before. Crews will not return to collect items set out late.
The landfill will operate on its regular hours—6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—on Monday, November 10, close on Veterans Day, and reopen from Wednesday through Saturday during normal hours.
The Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center also has adjusted hours. It is open Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., closed on Veterans Day, then open again Wednesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There were no additional statements or quotations provided by city officials regarding these schedule changes.
