Members of the Bismarck Fire Department participated in the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, joining colleagues from the Mandan Fire Department and other regional fire departments. The event serves as a tribute to first responders who died during the September 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center.

Participants climbed a distance equivalent to 110 stories, matching the height of the Twin Towers. The climb commemorates the sacrifice made by 343 firefighters, as well as police officers and paramedics who lost their lives while responding to the emergency.

The memorial stair climb is held each year to ensure that those who responded on September 11 are remembered for their actions and service.
