Fatal crash near McClusky claims two lives; investigation ongoing

A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at around 9:45 AM CT, involving a Chevrolet Silverado on 5th Ave NE, about three miles south of McClusky. The vehicle was driven by Matthew Teumer, aged 33 from McClusky. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Teumer lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch and rolled over. Both Teumer and his passenger, Gavin Brauner, also 33 and from McClusky, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the accident. Neither occupant was using restraints. No charges have been filed in connection with this incident.

The crash is being investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol with assistance from the McClusky Fire Department, McClusky Ambulance, and Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office.
