Gov. Kelly Armstrong responded to a recent court decision involving the Dakota Access Pipeline. A lawsuit filed by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe aimed to halt the pipeline's operation. However, Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court dismissed the case.

The pipeline, operational since June 2017 in North Dakota, remains a significant component of the state's energy infrastructure. Armstrong commented on the outcome, stating, "The Dakota Access Pipeline has been operating safely for almost eight years now and is a critical piece of infrastructure for North Dakota and our nation’s energy security."

He expressed satisfaction with the decision and emphasized a desire for resolution, adding, "We are pleased with the court’s decision, and we will continue pressing the Army Corps of Engineers to issue a final EIS that puts an end to this drawn-out matter once and for all."

The dismissal highlights ongoing discussions around pipeline regulation and its implications for regional and national energy strategies.
